To Safety
At KYC Scaffolding Pte Ltd and KYC Engineering Services Pte Ltd, safety is inseparable from all our business operations. We have created a strong culture with our safety management system and strive to continuously improve and challenge ourselves to go above and beyond.
How we work safe
Our safety and productivity team embarks on propagating safety awareness in the following ways:
- Collaborating with Ministry of Manpower Singapore and Workplace Safety & Health Council
- Developing and mobilizing our internal emergency response team
- Developing and executing safety promotion programs and campaigns within the organization
- Managing the training and development of the workforce at all levels
- Working with clients to develop jobsite-specific health, safety and environment measures for all tenders
Our Safety Standards
From all levels of our organization, we have pledged to fulfill our commitment to maintain the highest level of safe work environment, continuously developing and improving upon our comprehensive and in-depth safety policies, systems and programs designed to include, engage and empower our employees to deliver work safely, every day, every time.
Certified by the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), we are also recognized as an On-the-Job Training and Test Centre for our workforce. Our facility is equipped to operate as a test centre to assess scaffolding, corrosion prevention and refractories competencies. As part of the training prerequisite, KYC's scaffolders are required to undergo a minimum of 135 hours of On-the-Job training over a base period of 3 months before they are eligible to take the Skills Evaluation Test on grounds to be certified as a skilled scaffold erector.
We stand by our commitment to deliver excellence in workplace safety training and the skills development of our workforce.
At KYC, we cultivate the future leaders of our industry. Our Supervisor Ranking System (SRS) encourages our workforce to take proactive ownership and accountability at the supervisory level through top down and peer-to-peer observation and review.
We foster positive leadership development by emphasizing the importance of individual competency, team leadership and good practices of loss prevention.
Our team of dependable and effective supervisors embodies the safety standards of our works.
Our Management Performance Appraisal System (MPAS) is our initiative to see beyond the superficial vigilance of safety processes on the ground. Our management team conducts regular safety reviews, employing a hands-on, structured and documented field observation approach to all jobsites.
We implement control measures that protect the occupational safety, health and welfare of our workforce.
We maintain and operate a management system conforming to ISO 45001 for our scaffolding services.
We also continuously make improvements by discussing learnings and incorporating various safety practices, standards and requirements from all our clients, standardizing and setting the most stringent safety requirement as our baseline across all our work sites.
